Session 5 – Queen Jezebel & Elijah: God Is With Us When We’re Scared!
Lesson overview
Bible passage: 1 Kings 18–19
Big Truth: God is with us even when we are scared.
Memory Verse: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God.” (Isaiah 41:10)
What we cover
God’s people had turned away from Him and were following a false god named Baal, because of King Ahab and Queen Jezebel.
God sent His prophet Elijah to show the people that the Lord alone is the true God. On Mount Carmel, fire fell from heaven to prove God’s power!
But when Queen Jezebel became angry and threatened Elijah, he was afraid and ran away. Even in Elijah’s fear, God cared for him — sending an angel with food and water, giving him rest, and speaking to him through a gentle whisper.
Elijah learned that God is always with us, even when we are frightened or feel alone. He gives us courage, comfort, and peace.
