Genesis 21:1–7
Trueway Baby Bible lesson for ages 0–2

About This Baby Bible Lesson

This free printable Trueway Baby Bible lesson gently introduces babies and toddlers to the Bible account of Isaac’s birth in Genesis 21:1–7.

Through repetition, movement, music, and sensory exploration, little ones begin to learn one foundational truth: God does what He says.

Designed especially for ages 0–2, this lesson focuses on calm connection, predictable structure, and joyful interaction. Babies experience the Bible account through simple phrases, actions, and hands-on play that build early trust in God’s faithfulness.

The emphasis is reassurance — even when we wait, God keeps His promises.

How This Lesson Works

Trueway Baby lessons are short, gentle, and repeatable. Sessions are baby-led and flexible, allowing caregivers to respond warmly to each child’s cues.

Each session includes:

• One simple spoken key phrase: “God does what He says.”
• A gentle action song (“God Made a Promise” – optional tune: London Bridge)
• One clear sign language action (“Wait”)
• A hands-on sensory activity (“Permanence Box”)
• High-contrast baby cards (star, clock, baby, smile – see pages 2–3)
• Simple action picture cards retelling the Bible account (pages 4–7)
• A short, calming prayer

On page 1, the lesson introduces the key phrase, song, sensory activity, and sign.
Pages 4–7 provide simple action cards with phrases like “They waited…” and “Isaac was born!”
The Parent Take Home Sheet reinforces the message with easy at-home activities.

Everything is designed to build security, repetition, and joyful expectation.

Sensory Play Highlight

“Permanence Box” – Learning to Wait

Babies watch a ball disappear into a box and then reappear in the tray below.

As you hold your hands out and say, “Where did it go? We have to wait…”, babies begin to experience anticipation and joyful surprise.

When the ball returns, celebrate:

“The ball came back! God’s promise came true! Isaac was born!”

This simple activity connects object permanence with the message that God keeps His word.

Watch & Sing Along

This lesson includes a simple action song:

“God Made a Promise”
(Optional tune: London Bridge)

God made a promise long ago,
Long ago, long ago.
God made a promise long ago,
God kept it!

Baby Isaac came one day,
Came one day, came one day.
Baby Isaac came one day,
Like God said!

Singing strengthens rhythm, bonding, and memory through gentle repetition.
