We are now in our fourth year of Trueway Kids, and it has been an amazing journey so far. When we were first challenge to create resources to study the Bible at home with our son and decided to share with others online, we could never imagine how God would use them. God continues to amaze us.

  • In 2019 – We created weekly preschool Bible lessons through the Old Testament.
  • In 2020 – We created weekly preschool Bible lessons through the New Testament.
  • In 2021 – We created weekly Bible lessons through the Old Testament for babies, preschool and 5+
  • This year 2022 – We’ve created weekly Bible lessons through the New Testament for babies, preschool, 5+ and preteens / teens.

By the end of the year, we will have a two-year program for children from baby through 11 years old and completed the New Testament for teens.

Plans for 2023

New Bible lessons

There are some important Bible passages that didn’t fit into our two-year schedule through the Bible. Over the past year, we have been trying to fit in regular additional lessons. In 2023, this will take a real priority, now that we have completed the Old Testament and New Testament main schedule for Babies, Toddlers, Preschool, and 5+.

We will seek to add Bible lessons to fit between the passages we have already completed. This will help the children understand the Bible more fully and provide more context for the stories they are already familiar with. Additionally, it will help them to better understand how the Bible fits together as one cohesive story.

We have a list of planned Bible lessons which we are continuing to update as requested. We will soon have a form to also make it easier to request a creation of a Bible lesson.

Teen Bible lessons

At the start of 2022, we began to create lessons for preteens and teens due to regular requests. We have now almost completed the New Testament.

In 2023, we will continue our Bible lessons for teens by creating lessons on the Old Testament, so that by the end of the year, we will have a two-year Bible program for all ages from birth through teens.

It has been a joy to see people use the teen Bible lessons not only in English but in many other languages.

Translations

It is a blessing to have translated all our baby / toddler, preschool, 5+ and preteens / teens Bible lessons into English, Spanish and Portuguese. By doing so, we are able to share the gospel with children of all ages in their own language.

We also have Bible lessons available in over 35 other languages on our website of mixed ages.

It is especially a joy to be able to create Bible lesson translations for kids where very little or no Bible resources exist. In these areas, the Bible is often not available in the local language, and kids have few or no resources to help them learn about God’s Word.

It is truly a privilege to be able to create resources that allow children to hear the Bible for the first time in their own language.

We are so grateful to those who partner with us to make translations possible. We will continue to add new translations of past and future lessons in different languages as the need and help is available.

Bible-based ESL program

The Bible-based ESL program will be for children to learn English as a second language. The program will include worksheets and dialogues that are based on Bible stories.

The Bible-based ESL program will be designed as an outreach tool for churches or mission trips, although could equally be done at home.

It will provide a way for children to learn about the Bible and learn English at the same time.

The course will introduce children to the basics of the language in a fun and engaging way but focusing on one Bible passage and one main learning topic in each section. For example, learning about weather through a Bible passage about a storm.

Our hope is that this program will be an easy-to-use tool for churches and mission groups to reach unchurched children with the gospel.

Around the world – Mission program for kids

The Great Commission calls us to go into all the world and share the Gospel. Around the world, countries are filled with different cultures, customs, and languages.

This Bible program for kids will have a mission theme and will help children learn about different countries while also learning about missions both past and present.

This program will take kids on a journey to different countries, teaching them about the people and the culture. They will also learn about how God has used people to share the love of Jesus with others around the world.

The program includes a variety of activities, such as crafts, games, recipes, and puzzles, that will help kids learn about different countries.

Themed Holiday Clubs and Weekly Programs

We currently have three themed programs on our website which can be used as a VBS or weekly Bible program. (1. World Soccer Champions 2. Sports program & 3. Sea Explorers.)

It has been such a privilege to see churches and families using these programs and hear of children accepting Jesus as Saviour while using them.

These programs offer a variety of activities that teach kids about the Bible, including scripts, lesson guides, story time, crafts, games, and more.

In 2023, we will add some new themed Bible based programs.

God did that – STEM lessons for kids

Last year, we created a few lessons called ‘God did that – STEM lessons for kids. By using lessons from the Bible, kids can learn about STEM concepts in a fun, engaging and Biblical way.

In 2023, we hope to share another series of STEM lessons for kids.

Training

We often get asked to create training on how to teach children the Bible.

We are praying about this and how to do it effectively.

This training would equip teachers with the tools they need to engage children in the truths of the Bible.

The challenge of creating a course to teach adults how to teach the Bible to kids is that while the fundamentals remain the same, the practical element change a lot between nations and locations. The course would need to be designed to be flexible enough to cater to these different contexts while still providing a strong foundation in the principles of teaching the Bible to kids.

The course would need to be very adaptable to be successful, in order to make it relevant and useful for those who will be using it. For example, the legal requirement of a children’s ministry in the UK, might be impossible to implement in another part of the world.

Please pray with us about the best way to deliver this training, whether it will be done through short guides, blog posts, short videos or a more structured system, and what topics to include.

Be open to God’s plans

We want to be led by God and to follow His will for Trueway Kids.  Over the past four-years, God has continued to open new doors and surprise us in ways we never would have imagined.

As we prepare for 2023, we want to remain flexible to His leading and able to respond and obey quickly to His promptings.

Thank you

We are so grateful for your prayers and support for the Trueway Kids.

Thank you for being a part of this ministry, and we look forward to continuing to study the Bible with you in the next year.
