Matthew 21:12–17 / Mark 11:15–19

Trueway Baby Bible lesson for ages 0–2

About This Baby Bible Lesson

This free printable Baby Bible lesson gently introduces babies and toddlers to the Bible passage where Jesus visits the temple and finds it filled with noise, animals, money, and market activity. Jesus clears the temple and reminds the people that God’s house is meant to be a house of prayer. Through simple words, repeated actions, music, sensory play, and visual learning, little ones begin to learn one clear truth: God’s house is special.

Designed especially for ages 0–2, this lesson focuses on connection, repetition, and early faith formation. Babies experience the Bible passage through movement, sound, simple signs, high-contrast cards, sensory play, and loving interaction.

The lesson presents the passage through simple action cards, including walking to the temple, making noisy animal sounds, covering the ears when the crowds become loud, making praying hands, using the Clean sign, becoming quiet again, clapping when people can worship, and remembering that God loves to hear us pray.

The lesson also includes a Cleaning Cloths sensory activity. Babies and toddlers can rub and wipe clean colourful cloths across the floor, a highchair tray, or their knees while hearing that Jesus cleared the noisy mess from the temple so it could again be a place of prayer.

Watch & Sing Along

“God’s House Is for Prayer”

Optional tune: The Farmer in the Dell

God’s house is for prayer,
God’s house is for prayer,
Jesus made the temple clean,
God’s house is for prayer.

The animals were loud,
the money clinked around,
Jesus swept the mess away,
God’s house is for prayer.

Singing together supports bonding, rhythm, early language development, and repetition of the lesson’s key truth.

Parent Take-Home Connection

The parent take-home sheet reminds families that their child learned: God’s house is a very special place meant for talking to Him.

It includes simple home ideas such as Noisy Market, Quiet Church, switching between loud animal sounds and quiet praying hands, and Clinking Coin Drop, dropping large baby-safe plastic links or lids into a container to hear a “clink, clink” sound. Families can also practise the Clean sign and sing the lesson song during the week.
