Why does church matter if God is everywhere?

The Bible teaches that we can pray to God anywhere, so a church building is not required for God to hear us. But God also calls believers to gather together to worship, learn, pray, encourage one another, and help each other follow Jesus.

Church matters because the Christian life was never meant to be lived alone. Like coals in a fire that help one another keep burning, believers strengthen one another as they meet together and keep Jesus at the centre.
