Mark 5:24–34

Trueway Word Bible lesson for preteens (ages 8–13)

About This Preteen Bible Lesson

This free printable Bible lesson helps preteens explore Mark 5:24–34, where a woman who had suffered for twelve years reaches out to Jesus in faith. Surrounded by a pressing crowd, Jesus still notices her, responds with compassion, and calls her “Daughter.” Through this Bible passage, children discover that Jesus welcomes people who come to Him with their needs, sees individuals others may overlook, and restores dignity as well as bringing healing.

Using the Trueway Word W.O.R.D. Bible study method, preteens will Walk into God’s Word, Observe what the Bible says, Reflect on what it means, and Discover how to live it out. Designed for Sunday school, homeschool, family devotions, and church groups, this preteen Bible lesson helps children develop a biblical worldview centred on bringing worries to Jesus, trusting Him even when faith feels small, noticing people who feel invisible, and understanding that every person is seen, known, and valued by Christ.

The Big Question

How can I reach out to Jesus if I can’t see Him?

The woman reached out physically because Jesus was standing in front of her, but the power was not in touching His clothes—it was in Jesus Himself. Today, we reach out to Jesus through faith when we pray, read His Word, bring Him our worries, and trust what God has shown us to be true, even though we cannot see Him with our eyes.

What Kids Will Learn

  • Jesus welcomes us when we bring our worries and needs to Him.
  • We do not have to wait until we have tried everything else before coming to Jesus.
  • Jesus notices individuals even in the middle of a crowd.
  • No one is invisible, forgotten, or unimportant to Jesus.
  • Faith means trusting Jesus enough to come to Him.
  • Small faith placed in a great God matters more than confidence in ourselves.
  • Jesus cared about the woman’s dignity as well as her physical healing.
  • Christians can reflect Jesus by noticing and including people who feel overlooked.

Why This Lesson Matters

Preteens can easily feel lost in a crowd, overlooked at school, left out of friendships, or unsure whether their worries are important enough to bring to God. This Bible passage reassures them that Jesus is never too busy or distracted to notice an individual person.

The lesson also helps children see faith as something more realistic than pretending everything is fine. The woman came to Jesus after years of suffering, carrying both hope and fear. Jesus received her with compassion. Preteens are encouraged to bring their real concerns to Him, trust Him even when they do not have every answer, and learn to see others with the same dignity and care that Jesus showed.
