No. Peter doubted, became afraid, and began to sink—but he still cried out to Jesus. Jesus reached for him immediately.

This lesson helps preteens understand that doubt and unbelief are not the same thing. Doubt can still turn toward Jesus for help, and faith is not pretending to have everything figured out. It is knowing who to trust when we do not.

It is continuing to look to Jesus, obeying Him one step at a time, and calling for His help when we begin to sink.
