Matthew 18:21–35

Trueway Baby Bible lesson for ages 0–2

About This Baby Bible Lesson

This free printable Baby Bible lesson gently introduces babies and toddlers to the Bible passage in Matthew 18:21–35, where Jesus teaches about forgiveness, kindness, and mercy through the parable of the unforgiving servant. Through simple words, repeated actions, high-contrast visuals, music, and sensory play, little ones begin to learn one clear truth: I can be kind.

Designed especially for ages 0–2, this lesson focuses on connection, repetition, and early faith formation. Babies experience the Bible passage through movement, sound, touch, facial expression, and loving interaction—helping them begin to connect God’s kindness with saying sorry, forgiving, sharing, and being a good friend.

The lesson introduces The Unforgiving Servant through simple action cards, including a helper who owed a king a lot of money, the king showing kindness and wiping the debt away, the helper refusing to be kind to his friend, and the reminder that God wants us to treat others like He treats us.

The lesson also includes a “Wipe It Clean” sensory activity, where babies use a soft cloth to wipe away a scribble from a whiteboard or laminated page. This gentle hands-on activity helps little ones connect forgiveness with something being wiped clean, while hearing the simple reminder that God is kind and forgives.

Watch & Sing Along

“Be Kind and Forgive”
(Optional Tune: Mary Had a Little Lamb)

God forgives when we say “Sorry,”
We say “Sorry,” we say “Sorry.”
God forgives when we say “Sorry,”
God is always kind.

We can forgive others too,
Others too, others too.
We can forgive others too,
Just like God.

Singing together supports bonding, rhythm, and early language development while reinforcing the key truth of the lesson.

Parent Take-Home Connection

The parent take-home sheet reminds families that their child learned: God is very kind to us, and He wants us to share that kindness by forgiving others.

It also includes simple at-home activities such as “Jail Peek-a-Boo,” using hands like bars and then opening them wide, and “Coin Sorting,” using large and small lids to show the difference between a big amount and a small amount. These simple activities help parents continue the Bible lesson naturally through play, repetition, and everyday connection.
