Judges 7:1–25

Trueway Baby Bible lesson for ages 0–2

About This Baby Bible Lesson

This free printable Baby Bible lesson gently introduces babies and toddlers to the Bible passage in Judges 7:1–25, where God uses Gideon and a tiny army of 300 men to show His power and care. Through simple words, repeated actions, music, sensory play, and visual learning, little ones begin to learn one clear truth: God is big and strong.

Designed especially for ages 0–2, this lesson focuses on connection, repetition, and early faith formation. Babies experience the Bible passage through movement, sound, touch, facial expression, and loving interaction, helping them begin to associate God with strength, safety, care, and trust.

The lesson introduces Gideon and the 300 through simple action cards, including Gideon’s very big army, God saying there were too many men, the men drinking from the river, God choosing a tiny army, the jars and horns, the bright lights, the trumpets, and the reminder that God takes care of us. Through these repeated interactions, babies begin to learn that God does not need us to be big or strong to do great things.

The lesson also includes a hands-on “Paper Trumpets” sensory activity, where babies hold, roll, and look through paper tubes while hearing soft trumpet sounds. This gentle sensory experience connects with the story of Gideon’s small army blowing trumpets and helps little ones explore the Bible passage through sound, touch, and play.

Watch & Sing Along

“Gideon, Gideon, Trusted God”
(Optional Tune: Row, Row, Row Your Boat)

Gideon, Gideon, trusted God,
With three hundred men.
Trumpets, jars, and shining lights,
Praise Him once again.

Singing together supports bonding, rhythm, and early language development while reinforcing the key truth of the lesson.

Parent Take-Home Connection

The parent take-home sheet reminds families that their child learned: God does not need us to be big or strong to do great things. God keeps me safe!

It also includes simple at-home activities such as “Flashlight Glow,” where parents safely shine a flashlight on the ceiling and say, “Look at the bright light! Gideon’s friends held up bright lights in the dark!” This helps babies connect the story with light, movement, and wonder.

Families are also encouraged to try “Trumpets,” using an empty cardboard paper towel tube or an upside-down plastic bowl. Toddlers can blow softly through the tube or gently tap on the bowl, connecting the story of Gideon’s army with sound and playful movement.

The take-home sheet also encourages families to practise the sign for “Many” and sing the lesson song together throughout the week, helping babies remember that God is big, strong, and caring.
