Judges 6
Trueway Baby Bible lesson for ages 0–2
About This Baby Bible Lesson
This free printable Baby Bible lesson gently introduces babies and toddlers to the Bible passage in Judges 6, where God called Gideon to trust Him. Although Gideon felt small and afraid, God promised to be with him and give him strength. Through simple words, repeated actions, music, sensory play, and visual learning, little ones begin to learn one clear truth: God makes me brave.
Designed especially for ages 0–2, this lesson focuses on connection, repetition, and early faith formation. Babies experience the Bible passage through movement, sound, touch, facial expression, and loving interaction, helping them discover that God is always with them and gives them courage when they feel afraid.
The lesson introduces Gideon through simple action cards, including Gideon hiding because he was afraid, the angel of the Lord visiting him, God calling him brave, Gideon laying out a soft fleece, God making the fleece wet and then dry, and reminding every child that God makes us brave too. Through these repeated interactions, babies begin to associate God with strength, courage, and loving care.
The lesson also includes a hands-on “Soft Fleece” sensory activity, where babies explore soft fleece fabric or large cotton pads while hearing how God used Gideon’s fleece to show that He is powerful and trustworthy. This gentle sensory experience reinforces the lesson through touch, movement, and repetition while remaining safe and age appropriate.

Watch & Sing Along
“God Is With Me”
(Optional Tune: Row, Row, Row Your Boat)
God is big, God is strong,
He is with me now!
I am brave, yes I am,
God will show me how!
Singing together supports bonding, rhythm, and early language development while reinforcing the key truth of the lesson.
Parent Take-Home Connection
The parent take-home sheet reminds families that their child learned: God makes us brave to serve Him.
It also includes simple at-home activities such as “The Fleece Test,” where children feel a dry washcloth before dipping it into water to notice the difference between dry and wet, and “Cosy Hiding,” where families build a small blanket fort and remember that although Gideon was afraid, God came to him and said, “Do not be afraid. I am with you.” These simple activities help reinforce the Bible lesson through play, repetition, and everyday connection.
The take-home sheet also encourages families to practise the sign for “Strong” and sing the lesson song together throughout the week, helping babies remember that God is always with them and gives them courage.
