John 9:1–7

Trueway Baby Bible lesson for ages 0–2

About This Baby Bible Lesson

This free printable Baby Bible lesson gently introduces babies and toddlers to the Bible passage in John 9:1–7. A man could not see, but Jesus came to help him, placed mud on his eyes, and told him to wash. The man obeyed and came back able to see. Through simple words, repeated actions, music, sensory play, and visual learning, little ones begin to learn one clear truth: Jesus helps me see.

Designed especially for ages 0–2, this lesson focuses on connection, repetition, and early faith formation. Babies experience the Bible passage through movement, touch, facial expressions, signs, high-contrast cards, and loving interaction.

The lesson presents the passage through simple action cards, including closing and covering the eyes, calling to Jesus, pointing to the eyes, pretending to wash the face, opening the eyes wide, pointing around the room, making strong muscles, and remembering that Jesus helps us too.

The lesson also includes Squishy Mud Bags, made with securely sealed bags containing brown finger paint, chocolate pudding, or brown playdough. Babies can pat, poke, and squish the “mud” safely through the plastic while hearing that Jesus is powerful and helped the man see.

Watch & Sing Along

“Now the Man Can See”

Optional tune: This Is the Way We Wash Our Face

This is the way he washed his eyes,
washed his eyes, washed his eyes.
This is the way he washed his eyes,
just like Jesus told him!

Now the man can see the light,
see the light, see the light!
Now the man can see the light,
thank You, thank You, Jesus!

Singing together supports bonding, rhythm, early language development, and repetition of the lesson’s key truth.

Parent Take-Home Connection

The parent take-home sheet reminds families that their child learned: Jesus is powerful. Jesus heals!

It includes simple home ideas such as I Can See, using peek-a-boo to connect with the man being able to see, and Window Pointing, looking outside and naming bright things God made. Families can also practise the Eyes sign and sing the lesson song during the week.
