2 Kings 22–23

Trueway Baby Bible lesson for ages 0–2

About This Baby Bible Lesson

This free printable Baby Bible lesson gently introduces babies and toddlers to the Bible passage about King Josiah in 2 Kings 22–23. Josiah became king while he was still young. As God’s house was being cleaned, the workers discovered a hidden Book containing God’s words. Josiah listened carefully, loved God’s Word, shared it with the people, and led them to follow God.

Through simple words, repeated actions, music, sensory play, and visual learning, little ones begin to learn one clear truth: God teaches my heart.

Designed especially for ages 0–2, this lesson focuses on connection, repetition, and early faith formation. Babies experience the Bible passage through movement, simple signs, high-contrast cards, paper textures, listening actions, and loving interaction.

The lesson presents the passage through simple action cards, including holding a hand over the head like a crown as Josiah becomes a young king, moving flat hands like a broom while God’s house is cleaned, opening the hands when the workers discover the hidden Book, cupping a hand behind the ear as Josiah listens to God’s words, making the Book sign to remember that Josiah loved God’s true Book, waving toward the room as he reads to the families, clapping when the people promise to follow God, and opening the hands like a book to remember that God teaches us through the Bible.

The lesson also includes a Scroll Discovery sensory activity. Babies and toddlers can unroll, crunch, squeeze, and explore clean unprinted parchment or baking paper while hearing how the workers found God’s Book inside His house and Josiah opened it to hear God’s words.

Watch & Sing Along

“Read the Bible”

Optional tune: Frère Jacques

Read the Bible,
Love the Bible,
God’s true Word,
God’s true Word.
Keep it in my heart,
Keep it in my heart,
Every day,
Every day.

Singing together supports bonding, rhythm, early language development, movement, and repetition of the lesson’s key truth.

Parent Take-Home Connection

The parent take-home sheet reminds families that their child learned: We should read and love the Bible because it is God’s true Word.

It includes simple home ideas such as Scroll Roll-Out, using a clean sheet of packing paper to practise rolling and unrolling while using the Book sign, and Home Toy Clean-up, turning an everyday tidy-up routine into a simple activity connected with Josiah cleaning God’s house.

Families can also practise the Book sign and sing the lesson song during the week.
