1 Kings 3, 5–6

Trueway Baby Bible lesson for ages 0–2

About This Baby Bible Lesson

This free printable Baby Bible lesson gently introduces babies and toddlers to the Bible passage about King Solomon in 1 Kings 3, 5–6. Solomon became king and wanted to lead well. When God invited him to ask for a gift, Solomon asked for wisdom so he could help people and make good choices. Later, Solomon built a beautiful temple as a special place to worship God.

Through simple words, repeated actions, music, sensory play, and visual learning, little ones begin to learn one clear truth: God gives me wisdom.

Designed especially for ages 0–2, this lesson focuses on connection, repetition, and early faith formation. Babies experience the Bible passage through movement, counting, simple signs, high-contrast cards, building play, and loving interaction.

The lesson presents the passage through simple action cards, including making a crown shape when Solomon becomes king, resting the head on folded hands as God speaks to Solomon, using the Think sign when Solomon asks for wisdom, clapping when God gives him a wise mind, pretending to build the temple, reaching up high for the temple walls, making prayer hands, and placing hands over the heart to remember that God gives wisdom.

The lesson also includes a Building Blocks sensory activity. Babies and toddlers can stack large soft foam blocks or lightweight boxes to make a simple “temple,” count the blocks together, and rebuild them after gently knocking them down.

Wise, wise, wise with God,
Ask Him what to do.
Solomon asked for wisdom,
I can ask Him too.

Singing together supports bonding, rhythm, early language development, and repetition of the lesson’s key truth.

Parent Take-Home Connection

The parent take-home sheet reminds families that their child learned: When we ask God, He gives us a wise heart to make good choices.

It includes simple home ideas such as Temple Block Stacking, building with soft blocks, plastic cups, or containers while remembering Solomon building the temple, and Smart Choice, noticing kind or helpful choices and connecting them with using a wise heart.
