About This Baby Bible Lesson

This free printable Baby Bible lesson gently introduces babies and toddlers to the Bible passage about Philip and the Ethiopian in Acts 8:26–40. God tells Philip to go along a desert road, where he meets a man travelling in a chariot and reading from a scroll. The man does not understand what he is reading, so Philip helps him understand God’s words and tells him about Jesus.

Through simple words, repeated actions, music, sensory play, and visual learning, little ones begin to learn one clear truth: Share God’s love.

The lesson presents the passage through simple action cards, including patting knees to represent Philip walking along the desert road, rolling hands like chariot wheels, opening hands like a scroll, making a confused face when the man does not understand, pointing upward when Philip tells him about Jesus, pointing toward the water, making splashing motions to remember the man being baptised, and cupping hands around the mouth to show that we can share God’s love with others too.

The lesson also includes a Crinkle Scroll sensory activity. Babies and toddlers can unroll, pull, and crinkle large sheets of safe brown packing paper or crinkle fabric while hearing how the Ethiopian was reading a scroll and Philip helped him understand God’s words.
