1 Samuel 1–2
Trueway Baby Bible lesson for ages 0–2
About This Baby Bible Lesson
This free printable Baby Bible lesson gently introduces babies and toddlers to the Bible passage in 1 Samuel 1–2. Hannah was very sad because she wanted a baby, so she prayed to God. God heard her prayer and gave her a son named Samuel. Through simple words, repeated actions, music, sensory play, and visual learning, little ones begin to learn one clear truth: God hears my prayers.
Designed especially for ages 0–2, this lesson focuses on connection, repetition, and early faith formation. Babies experience the Bible passage through facial expressions, movement, touch, signs, visual cards, and loving interaction.
The lesson presents Hannah and Samuel through simple action cards, including making a gentle sad face, placing hands together to pray, cupping a hand behind the ear, rocking arms like holding a baby, moving hands upward to show growth, pretending to put on a coat, and repeating the Pray sign.
The lesson also includes a gentle Baby Blankets sensory activity. Babies touch clean, soft washcloths, press the fabric against their cheeks, or carefully place it over a baby-safe plush doll while hearing that Hannah loved Samuel, cared for him, and thanked God for hearing her prayer.

Watch & Sing Along
“God Is Listening”
Optional tune: Mary Had a Little Lamb
Pray to God both day and night,
day and night, day and night.
Pray to God both day and night,
God is listening.
God hears me and God hears you,
He hears me and hears you.
God hears me and God hears you,
God is listening.
Singing together supports bonding, rhythm, early language development, and repetition of the lesson’s key truth.
Parent Take-Home Connection
The parent take-home sheet reminds families that their child learned: God listens whenever we talk to Him.
It includes simple home ideas such as Growing Ribbon, gently measuring the baby with a bright ribbon while remembering how Samuel grew, and a Thankful Basket, choosing safe favourite toys one at a time and saying, “Thank You.” Families can also practise the Pray sign and sing the lesson song during the week.
