About This Baby Bible Lesson

This free printable Baby Bible lesson gently introduces babies and toddlers to the Bible passage in 1 Samuel 9–10. The people wanted a human king, Saul went looking for his missing donkeys, and God chose him to lead Israel. When it was time for Saul to be presented, he was hiding among the baggage. Through simple words, repeated actions, music, sensory play, and visual learning, little ones begin to learn one clear truth: God is my true King.

Designed especially for ages 0–2, this lesson focuses on connection, repetition, and early faith formation. Babies experience the Bible passage through movement, sound, hiding games, signs, high-contrast cards, and loving interaction.

The lesson presents King Saul through simple action cards, including shaking the head, making donkey ears, patting the knees to walk, searching with a hand above the eyes, tapping the head, looking around, hiding the face, making a crown shape, and pointing upward to remember that God is our great King.

The lesson also includes a Hiding Baggage sensory activity. A favourite toy is hidden inside soft baby blankets placed in a secure laundry basket or large box. Babies can pull out the blankets and search for the toy while hearing that Saul hid among the baggage, but God knew where he was.

It includes simple home ideas such as making a Paper Crown or using a soft hat while talking about God as the true King, and Hiding Donkeys, where families hide a toy or paper donkey under cushions for the child to find. Families can also practise the Crown sign and sing the lesson song during the week.
