Welcome to MISSIONS: Big World. Bigger God. — a 20-lesson journey designed to help children discover God’s heart for the nations and understand that they are part of His mission story.
This series helps children see that:
- God loves people from every nation
- The Bible is one unified mission story
- God uses ordinary believers to do extraordinary things
- Children can live on mission right now — through prayer, generosity, kindness, and sharing Jesus
Our prayer is that this curriculum raises a generation of Christ-centred, globally-minded disciples who live every day with the mindset: Big world — Bigger God.

Quarter 1: Missions in the Bible
Quarter 1 lays the biblical foundation for the entire series.
Across five sessions, children discover that missions began with God — and that He has always been the One who sends.
Session 1: Love Sends – Jesus Came on a Rescue Mission
John 3:16–17; Philippians 2:5–8
God’s love started the mission.
In this session, children learn that Jesus was sent from heaven to rescue the world — and that God now sends His people to share that same good news.

Session 2: Grace Shares – Jonah and the God Who Forgives
Jonah 1–4
Grace we receive is grace we share.
In this session, children discover that God’s mercy is for everyone — even people we struggle to love — and that forgiven hearts are meant to forgive others.

By the End of Quarter 1, Children Understand:
God loved — so He sent.
God forgave — so we share grace.
God guides — so we obey.
God welcomes — so we include.
God sends — and we go together.
Quarter 2: Mission History (Part 1)
Quarter 2 helps children discover how God used ordinary people throughout history to carry the Gospel across the world. Through these lessons, children will see that mission is not just found in the Bible—it continues across generations and still matters today.
Session 6: Go Where God Sends – The Great Commission & William Carey
Children explore Jesus’ command to “Go” and meet William Carey, a shoemaker who chose obedience even when it was difficult. This session helps children understand that following God often means taking faithful steps, one at a time.

Session 7: Compassion in Action – Amy Carmichael & the Good Samaritan
Through the story of the Good Samaritan and the life of Amy Carmichael, children learn that love is not just a feeling—it takes action. This lesson encourages children to notice those in need and respond with kindness and care.

Session 8: Faith That Adapts – Hudson Taylor & Paul in Athens
Children discover how Paul and Hudson Taylor shared God’s message in ways people could understand. This session teaches that while the message never changes, we can learn and adapt to help others hear it clearly.

Session 9: Courage to Go – David Livingstone & Isaiah’s Call
Through Isaiah’s response to God’s call and the life of David Livingstone, children learn that courage means saying “yes” to God—even when the path is unknown or difficult.

Session 10: Stand for Justice – Mary Slessor & Queen Esther
Children explore how Esther and Mary Slessor stood up for those in danger. This session teaches that God calls us to protect others and do what is right—even when we stand alone.

Quarter 3 – Mission History (Part 2)
Stories of courage, faith, perseverance, and sacrifice show that following God’s call requires bold obedience.
Quarter 4 – Missions Today
Children learn how they can live on mission right where they are — at home, school, church, and in their community.
By the end of the full 20 lessons, children will see:
The Bible is one big mission story.
History is filled with mission stories.
And their lives can be mission stories too.
